Who we are

The game is run by the Seasons of Steel team. This policy says what we collect when you play, why, who else sees it and for how long. Questions or requests: support@playseasonsofsteel.com.

What we collect

Your account: your lord name, and if you link a sign-in, your Google or Apple account's id and email address, or the email address you sign in with.

Your play: your lords, cities, armies, reports, purchases and everything else in your game, and what you write in chat and mail.

Your device: an id the game makes for your browser, your IP address, when you sign in, your browser's name and version, and, if you turn on notifications, your browser's push address.

How you play, to improve the game: when you sign up, start a world, found cities, finish starting quests, join alliances, first attack, open screens, and errors the game hits, with whether you're on a phone or a computer and which browser. These records don't include your IP address.

Reports you send to support, with the game's version and your world.

Why we use it

To run the game and keep your progress; to show your lord, cities and messages to other players as the game needs; to send notifications you turned on; to answer support; and to keep the game fair and safe, by limiting abuse and spotting cheating and linked accounts. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.

Who else sees it

Supabase runs our sign-in: it holds your sign-in identity and email address. Google or Apple, if you sign in with them, know you use the game.

Notifications go through your browser maker's push service (for example Google, Apple or Mozilla), which sees that a message was sent to your device, not what the game is.

When real-money purchases arrive, a payment provider will handle them; we won't see your full card details.

The records of how you play stay on our own servers; no analytics company sees them.

We may share data when the law requires it, or to protect players from harm.

How long we keep it

Chat is kept 7 days. Mail stays until you delete it, up to the 200 newest in your mailbox. Your IP address is kept 30 days after it was last seen, then only a scrambled form of it stays; sign-in records are kept 180 days. Records of how you play are kept 400 days (90 for screens opened and errors). Your account and lords stay until you ask us to delete them, or until a world closes.

Your choices

You can turn notifications off in Settings, or in your browser. You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account and its lords, by writing to support@playseasonsofsteel.com. Depending on where you live you may have other rights, such as to object or complain to a data protection authority.

Children

The game isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child under 13 is playing, tell us and we'll delete the account.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the game before it applies.
